This place isn't close, but it was worth the 1 hour drive! I ordered the tempura combo, gyu don and the saba shioyaki and sashimi combo. Everything was excellent! The staff was friendly as soon as I walked in, and although I had to drive over 1 hour back, the food was still warm when I opened it. Everything had great flavor and it blew my taste buds away. The tempura became soggy, but the flavor of it with the sauce was good! The gyu don was super tender and tasted great on its on and with the rice. It packed a ton a flavor and made a hearty meal. The sashimi was super fresh and tasted great with the wasabi, and the shioyaki was super tender and had excellent flavor. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something new or wants to expand their palate with great flavors. It also has a store stockef with products straight from Japan so before or after you eat, you can also buy things to take home. I will definitely be coming here again!

This is a place where you can taste traditional Japanese food. Their food is not fusion style or creative, but rather food that you can actually have in Japan. The taste is ok, it is closer to homemade cooking. When you visit during busy hours, food may not be served so quickly.

The outside does not look like it has been updated, but upon entering the restaurant itself, the atmosphere feels comforting and relaxed. The employees were helpful and even provided recommendations. My only critique is that the two appetizers and later the two main dishes were brought out at different times. My guess is that it was all brought out as it was made. Overall, great experience and delicious food.

Hidden gem for authentic Japanese food, there is also Tomatoe, the food grocery attached to this restaurant. Please call ahead for confirmation on food selection and hours of operation they close after lunch to reset for dinner.

If you want to experience authentic Japanese food, this is the place. The exterior may not be very attractive, but once inside, you’ll feel like you’re in Japan. It’s one of the few Japanese restaurants run by Japanese staff. The sushi is fresh and the ramen is savory.

Very authentic, variety of menu selection from deep fried, grilled, and marinated etc I had sushi & sashimi with two appetizers; scallop tare and yellowtail. I would like to give more credit on cooked dishes over sushi to be honest since fish are not too special here. It does not mean it's bad or anything, I'm saying cooked dishes are more special here. Strongly recommended to feel at an authentic Japanese restaurant with generous food cost.

Loved this hidden gem!! Make sure to go earlier to avoid large crowds! Had the ume onigiri, takoyaki, the 5-assorted sushi chef’s special, and dinner Oyakodon & Gyudon! Recommend coming here with a date since there’s a nice gift shop next door.

Ventured out my Atlanta based on the recommendation from a local friend. It's a small establishment with limited seating, but we got there at a sweet spot. This is the closest to authentic Japanese food I've had stateside. I wanted to try everything, which made deciding so difficult. The curry rice was delicious and the lunch portion was deceptively filling.
